notes: In this tutorial we consider the Stock Catalogue Groups, Sub Groups
and Sub Sub Groups. This is in fact the organizational or classification
hierarchy for the Catalogue. It is interesting to note that in many systems
this classification is built into the Stock Code, but in IES it is not
necessary. The Stock Code can be designed in any way that suits you, and it
also may include the Group, Sub Group and Sub Sub Group but we do not
recommend it. In IES, these properties are more flexible, and you can
re-classify any Stock Item at any stage, by changing the Group, the Sub
Group or the Sub Sub Group and then the reporting structure will adapt
automatically. Therefore, it is not necessary to have this information in
the Stock Code itself and in fact it would turn out to be confusing when
you re-classify or re-group an Item.
