Slide notes: There are some Stock Items that we manage with Serial Numbers, and we generally do so when an Item has a Serial Number, and possibly the serial number is linked to a warranty period.

Slide notes: For Serial Number management, we can choose to do so from the moment of receiving the Item on a Purchase Order receipt, or we can choose to only record the serial number when we sell or issue the Item.

Slide notes: So, in this example of the Blue Tooth Headset, the Item is managed with Serial Number from the moment of receiving the Item into Stock.

Slide notes: The serial numbers are processed by the system when we work with this Stock Item, and there is no need for maintenance on the Serial Numbers unless an Operator makes a mistake, and it has to be corrected afterwards.

Slide notes: And if the Item is found in more than 1 Store, then we will select which Store specifically we wish to deal with now.

Slide notes: If the Stock Item is managed by Serial Number, then the options to Query or Edit the Serial Numbers will be active, and if we have the necessary access, then we may choose the option to 'Edit Serial Values'.

Slide notes: We can see in this example, that we have 4 serial numbers, and we have a quantity of 4 in Stock, but if the Serial Numbers are below the Stock Quantity, then we may add more serial numbers. And if we want to modify an existing Serial Number, then we have to remove it 1st, and then add or insert the new number.
