We
are looking at Business Profiles and in this session we are looking at the
Budget Business Profile. |
|
As
with all the Business Profiles, we select it from the User Master Record by
choosing Business Profiles and then choosing the Budget Profile. |
The Budget Profile is
used to indicate, for a particular User, which accounts the User may Update
for Budget Purposes. So on the left hand
side, we can specify one or multiple ranges of accounts that the User may
process Budgets for. On the right hand side,
we can specify ranges that are excluded or that the User does not have access
to. |
|
|
|
|
|
So in this example we
are saying that on the left hand side, the User has access to the entire
series of accounts in the Chart of accounts. On the right hand side
we take out parts of the series and say that the User does not have access to
these. So if the account happens
to be between the 5 and 7999999 series, the User does not have access to it
and likewise on the 9 to 94999999
series, the User does not have access to. Anything outside that,
and inclusive on the series indicated on the left hand side, the User has
access to. |
|
The Budget Profiles are
optional to use. We do not have to apply them. So now we are going to
look in the Budget System at the Control Options to see where we switch this On
or Off. |
|
|
|
|
|
So when we check “Apply
Profiles”, it means that when the User is processing Budgets, then the System
is going to look at that User’s Budget Profile to see whether the User has
Access to Update the Budget for a particular account. If we do not check
“Apply Profiles”, then the Budget Profiles will be completely ignored and as
long as the User has Access to the Options that allow one to Update the
Budget on any account, then the User will be able to do that. |
